What causes sesamoiditis?
This foot condition develops when the small bones are repeatedly irritated and injured due to overuse and trauma.
Common symptoms:
- Aching
- Pain
- Intense throbbing
- Swelling or redness
Diagnosis:
- Xray
- MRI
Treatment:
- Examination by preferred podiatrist
- Stop or reduce activities causing stress or pain
- Steriod injections
- Prescribe anti-inflammtory medication
- Cast for custom molded orthotics
- Recommend surgery, if necessary
